Pollination by butterflies and bees is necessary for fruit trees and small fruits to actually produce. These pollinators transfer the pollen from one tree to another, leading to fertilization and fruit development. Typically, two different varieties of the same tree type must be planted within eyesight of each other. For example you will need two different apple tree varieties planted near each other to actually enjoy an apple harvest. A cherry tree will not pollinate an apple tree. And to complicate matters, some fruits are actually self-pollinating and self-fruitful. But don’t worry! We have simplified it for you with our resources below to help you enjoy a bountiful harvest.
